My name is Margaret and I write about spousal caregiving.
My husband has Muscular Dystrophy and his elderly father lives with us. I often feel that I am running a retirement home. I am the home health aide, cook, housekeeper, driver, and activities director. I left my job to be full time caregiver for both of them. It is my full time labor of love to keep us happy and safe. I am lucky to be the wife and daughter-in-law for two very special men.
This blog is about the good and bad days of spousal caregiving. I find therapy in writing about how we handle what life keeps throwing at us. I choose to look for the humor in our fun adventures and be honest in the moment during the hard days. I hope you will find something here that speaks to you and your situation.
Caregiving can be isolating and sometimes overwhelming. You are not alone. I hope you will join me and we can live this adventure of caregiving together.
